The Importance of Drinking Water

Did you know that many of us in the United States don't know or have forgotten the benefits of drinking water? By the time you are finished reading this article, my hope is that you will understand the importance of drinking water, and your drinking habits will change for the better. For your healths' sake.

We tend to get too busy to stop for a thirst quenching drink of "natures' nectar" or we prefer a burst of flavor in our mouth so we choose anything but water.

It's unbelievable, but by the time we feel thirsty we are already dehydrated. What surprises me even more, is that we don't know what to drink when we are dehydrated. We don't know the benefits of drinking water.

The importance of drinking water is that it is necessary for the body to digest and absorb nutrients and vitamins. Your blood is thicker and the body has to work harder to cause it to circulate. It's more difficult to concentrate because the brain becomes less active. Your body feels tired. You have little or no energy.

The "refreshment from heaven" detoxifies the liver and kidneys and flushes the system of waste. Fiber needs the benefits of drinking water to do that. Without it the good fiber goes bad which causes constipation and discomfort.

Purified water is a "wonder drug".

What are the benefits of drinking water?
increased mental and physical performance
it cleanses the body of toxins and waste
improves energy level
aids weight loss
improves digestion
it makes the skin healthy and glow ( let's face it ladies, that's why we spend so much on cosmetics and surgery
it balances our pH level

Purified water is a natural appetite suppressant so, not just knowing the importance of drinking water but developing the habit of drinking it is an aid in maintaining a healthy weight. Dr. Batmanghelidj MD., author of "Your Bodys' Many Cries for Water", states that most times your "hunger" is the body asking for water not food.

Remember, another reason for the importance of drinking water; I'm talking about water with the impurities filtered out, is that fat cells get rubbery and cannot metabolize easily, making it harder to lose weight. Hear me ladies!

Drinking water is important for pregnant women and nursing mothers. It reduces cardiovascular stress and improves performance. The "wet stuff" makes the exercise process safer and more effective because it reduces body temperature.

The benefits of drinking water assists in the healing of kidney stones. Since it dissolves calcium in the urine, drinking eight glasses of purified water a day reduces the risk of stone formation. It also prevents urinary tract infections by flushing impurities out of the system. Colds and flu are flushed away. Even cold sores are lessened because they like dry places.

As we have learned or have been reminded of the importance of drinking water, let me encourage you to drink eight glasses a day starting in the morning to flush out yesterdays' toxins. If you drink coffee, tea or soda with caffeine you'll need to drink more water.

In conclusion, once you start to apply what you have learned about the benefits of drinking water that has been purified, you'll look and feel better and have more energy.
